Notion doesn't take crypto directly. Its pricing page says it accepts "all major credit and debit card brands", and its help centre adds Apple Pay and Stripe Link on the web. The way to pay for Notion with crypto is a card you top up from a crypto wallet: a Visa or Mastercard that converts your USDT, USDC or SOL to dollars when Notion charges it. Notion bills upfront for the month or year, so the card has to hold the full amount on renewal day.

This guide covers Notion's current plans and prices, which payment methods a crypto card can use, what the fees add up to, and what Notion does when a payment fails.

Does Notion accept crypto?

No. Notion's payment methods page lists a debit or credit card or Apple Pay on Notion for web, plus Stripe Link to pay with a saved card. Notion says it "uses Stripe to process payments." Crypto isn't on the list.

That leaves two routes from a crypto wallet:

  • A crypto-funded card. You top up the card with crypto, and Notion sees an ordinary Visa or Mastercard.
  • Apple Pay backed by a crypto-funded card. The same card, added to Apple Wallet first, then chosen at Notion's checkout.

Notion's help pages don't say whether prepaid cards are accepted or refused. If your crypto card is prepaid, test it on a monthly plan before you commit to a year.

How to pay for Notion with crypto in 5 steps

  1. Get a crypto-funded card. It needs to be a Visa or Mastercard that works online. SolCard issues both, funded with USDT, USDC, SOL and other tokens on Solana, Ethereum, Base, Polygon and more.
  2. Top up enough for the full charge. Notion's payment methods page says: "If you pay with debit or credit card, you're charged upfront for the month or year you're about to spend on Notion." A yearly plan for a team is a large single charge.
  3. Open Settings, then Billing, in your Notion workspace and choose a plan, or upgrade from the pricing page.
  4. Enter the card at checkout, or pick Apple Pay if the card is in your Apple Wallet. Complete a 3D Secure prompt if one appears.
  5. Keep the card funded before each renewal. Notion also issues invoices monthly for members you add, so a team plan can charge more than the base price.

To swap an existing card for a crypto card, Notion's payment methods page gives the path: Settings, Billing, Edit method next to your payment method, enter the new details, then Update.

Notion plans and prices in 2026

From Notion's pricing page and plan help page, checked November 2026, in USD:

PlanListed priceWho it's forNotion AI
Free$0"Completely free for individual use"Trial of Notion AI
Plus$10 per member / month"For small teams and professionals to work together"Trial of Notion AI
Business$20 per member / month"For growing businesses to streamline teamwork"Notion Agent, AI Meeting Notes, Enterprise Search (Beta)
EnterpriseCustomBusinesses and larger organizationsBusiness AI features plus zero data retention with LLM providers

The page has a Pay monthly / Pay yearly toggle and says "Save up to 20% with yearly." Check the toggle at checkout: the price per member changes with the billing interval.

Two points before you pay at all:

  • Notion is free for individual use. Notion's plan help page describes the Free plan as "completely free for individual use." If you work alone, you may not need a card on file.
  • Students and educators can get Plus free. The pricing page FAQ says: "The Plus Plan (with a 1-member limit) is free for students and educators."

Notion credits for Custom Agents

Custom Agents sit outside the seat price. The pricing page lists them as "Free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly Notion credits." Notion's credits help page says "Notion credits are only available on Business and Enterprise plans."

Credits are a recurring charge on the same card. If you raise the amount mid-cycle, Notion says "You'll be billed for the higher recurring credit amount at the start of your next monthly service date." A failed credit payment doesn't take down your plan: credits you have already paid for keep working, and the rest are "put on hold until an admin fixes the payment."

Which Notion payment methods work with a crypto card?

Notion payment methodWhereRoute from a crypto wallet

Apple PayNotion for web, iOSAdd the crypto card to Apple Wallet first
Stripe LinkNotion for webSaves the card you enter; the card is still what gets charged
Apple App StoreiOS appBilled by Apple, not Notion; see paying Apple subscriptions with a crypto card
Android appAndroidNot available: Notion says "you can't make payments in the Android app at this time"

Sources: Notion payment methods and refund policy.

Buying in the iOS app moves the subscription to Apple. Notion's refund policy says App Store buyers have to "contact Apple directly to request a refund," and the credits page says App Store subscribers can't buy Notion credits until they cancel and upgrade on notion.com. For a team plan, paying on the web keeps billing in one place.

Apple Pay is useful if a card number typed at checkout gets refused. It only works with a card that your issuer lets you add to Apple Wallet. On SolCard, that is the Platinum tier only; our Apple Pay guide walks through it.

What does Notion cost when you pay with crypto?

Notion's price is the same whatever card you use. The extra cost comes from the card, plus the network fee for sending crypto to it, which depends on the chain you send from.

SolCard VirtualSolCard Platinum
Top-up fee5% of the amount you top up0%
Per-transaction fee$0.30$0.30
FX spread1-2%, only if the charge isn't in USD0-1.5%, only if the charge isn't in USD

Top-up fees and FX spreads are on SolCard fees. The $0.30 per transaction is from SolCard's help-centre fee breakdown. A one-time card issuance fee comes on top: $10 for a Virtual card.

The pricing page has a "Price in USD" currency selector. If you pay in another currency, the FX spread applies on top; our foreign transaction fee guide explains how that works.

Our view: a team paying yearly makes one large charge, and that is where the 0% Platinum top-up saves real money. Platinum needs identity verification and isn't offered in the US.

Why do Notion payments fail on a crypto card?

These are the usual things to check when a crypto card is declined at Notion's checkout:

  • The balance is short. Notion charges upfront, and a yearly team plan is a single large charge. Top up before renewal day, not on it.
  • Members were added mid-cycle. Notion's billing page says added members are prorated, and Notion "issue[s] invoices on a monthly basis" for them. That charge lands on the same card.
  • The card isn't set up for online or international charges. Some cards need this switched on.
  • 3D Secure wasn't completed. If your card app or email asks you to approve the charge, approve it before the checkout times out.
  • Repeated attempts. Retrying the same card several times in a few minutes can trigger a temporary block from the issuer or processor.

If you're still stuck, go through why crypto cards get declined, which covers decline codes and fixes in more detail.

What Notion does after a failed payment

Notion's plan help page sets out the sequence:

  1. "Your account email will be notified after each failed payment."
  2. "Payments may be retried up to 8 times within the next month."
  3. If none succeed, the workspace "will get restricted to limited-access for a period of time before being downgraded to the Free plan."

The billing page says you can re-upgrade from Settings and settle unpaid invoices there. If the card was only short, topping it up lets one of Notion's retries go through. If the card itself is the problem, use Edit method to swap it.

Notion refunds when you paid with a crypto card

Notion's refund policy sets two windows:

  • Monthly billing: contact Notion "within three days of the date your invoice is issued."
  • Annual billing: "within 30 days of the date your invoice is issued."

Requests have to come from the workspace owner's email or the billing email on file. Charges for members added by mistake can be refunded within three days of the invoice, once you've removed the extra members. Unused purchased credits are refundable, but not once any part of them has been used.

A refund on a card purchase normally goes back to the card that paid, not to your crypto wallet.

Is SolCard a good fit for paying Notion?

SolCard is a prepaid Visa or Mastercard that you top up with crypto, with no bank account and no credit check. Notion accepts major card brands, so a SolCard card can sit behind a Plus or Business plan and any Notion credits.

The two tiers fit different Notion users:

  • Virtual: a virtual card only, with a 5% top-up fee and a $10,000 monthly limit. It needs no ID up to that limit, and it's the only tier available in the US.
  • Platinum: physical and virtual cards, 0% top-up, Apple Pay and Google Pay. It requires identity verification and isn't offered in the US. It's the better fit for yearly team plans or if you want to pay with Apple Pay.

The limitations: SolCard doesn't lower Notion's price, Apple Pay is Platinum-only, and Notion doesn't say whether it accepts prepaid cards, so start on a monthly plan. See virtual cards for how the cards work.

If Notion is one of several tools you pay for this way, our guide to paying for subscriptions with crypto covers the general approach.

Frequently asked questions

Does Notion accept crypto payments?

No. Notion accepts debit and credit cards, Apple Pay and Stripe Link on the web, processed by Stripe. To pay from a crypto wallet, top up a crypto-funded Visa or Mastercard and use it at Notion's checkout.

Does Notion accept prepaid cards?

Notion's help pages don't say either way. Its pricing page says it accepts "all major credit and debit card brands." Try a prepaid crypto card on a monthly plan first, and check that it's enabled for online and international charges.

Can I pay for Notion with Apple Pay using a crypto card?

Yes, if your crypto card can be added to Apple Wallet. Notion accepts Apple Pay on the web and in the iOS app. On SolCard, Apple Pay is available on the Platinum tier only.

How much is Notion Plus?

Notion's pricing page lists Plus at $10 per member per month and Business at $20, in USD. It says yearly billing saves up to 20%, so the price you pay depends on the billing toggle at checkout.

What happens if my Notion payment fails?

Notion emails you after each failed payment and may retry up to 8 times within a month. If none succeed, the workspace is restricted to limited access, then downgraded to Free. Top up the card or change the payment method under Settings, then Billing.

Can I get a refund from Notion?

Usually, if you're quick. Notion's refund policy gives three days from the invoice date for monthly billing and 30 days for annual billing. App Store purchases are refunded by Apple, not Notion.

Is Notion free for students?

Yes. Notion's pricing page says the Plus plan, limited to one member, is free for students and educators.

The bottom line

Notion is a straightforward card merchant: there's no crypto checkout, but a crypto-funded Visa or Mastercard can pay any web plan, and Apple Pay is a second route. The things to watch are Notion's upfront billing, monthly invoices for added members, and its 8-retry sequence before a downgrade. Fund the card for the whole charge, start monthly to confirm the card goes through, and switch to yearly once it does.
