Why SolCard fits Dune's credit-based billing
Dune's current self-serve paid tiers are Analyst and Plus, and its docs say a single user can create a team of one to access paid plans. SolCard works whether you're subscribing for personal research or putting a shared team workspace on a recurring plan.
Dune charges credits for executions, API or CSV exports, uploads, and other system activity. Once the included monthly quota is exhausted, extra credits are billed at the same rate as your plan, and admins can cap that spend with the "Limit extra credits" setting, which defaults to $0.
Only team admins control subscription changes, and paid team features live on the billed team account rather than following each member personally. Keeping one SolCard attached to the right team avoids confusion when viewers, editors, and admins all spend the same shared credit pool.
Dune bills data exports in credits, and its API billing docs list export rates of 10 credits per MB on Analyst versus 2 credits per MB on Plus. The Queries Endpoint is also limited to Plus and Enterprise, so plan choice directly affects what your card is paying for.
Analyst and Plus can be billed monthly or annually at a lower yearly rate, but Dune still refreshes credits every month. Even on an annual subscription, any extra credits are charged on a separate monthly cadence instead of waiting until year-end.
Upgrades start a new billing cycle and apply a pro-rata refund for unused days on the old plan, while downgrades wait until the current cycle ends. If you switch back to Free, the subscription stays active for 30 days after the last payment, and prepaid periods are not refunded early.

About Dune
Dune sells subscriptions for its onchain data platform, where analysts, protocol teams, and developers pay for Analyst or Plus plans, annual renewals, and pay-as-you-go extra credits when query executions, exports, uploads, alerts, or other automated jobs exceed the included monthly quota. Real SolCard use cases include upgrading a solo researcher through a team of one, keeping a shared Plus workspace active for lower-cost exports and Queries Endpoint access, and covering monthly overage charges when API-heavy workflows burn through Dune credits.
Dune payment and subscription FAQ
Dune's public self-serve terms say paid subscription plans require a credit or debit card and are processed by Stripe. Dune does not document a standard crypto checkout for Analyst or Plus, so SolCard is mainly useful as the card you keep on file for those subscriptions.
