Verified on Virtual for AI & Ad Spend

SolCard customers have successfully paid Runway with the Virtual for AI & Ad Spend card (as of October 2026). Top it up with USDT, USDC, USDG, EURC, ETH, BNB, POL, AVAX, HYPE, wBTC, wETH or SOL: $10 for the card, 5% per top-up. Get Virtual for AI & Ad Spend.

Runway doesn't accept crypto. It bills through Stripe, and its help center lists cards, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Stripe bank payments in the US, Alipay, Cash App Pay and WeChat Pay. To pay from a wallet, use a card you top up with crypto.

Runway is an AI video and image studio: Gen-4.5 video, image models, voice and music, and a tool for making ads. You pay a monthly or yearly plan that comes with credits, and generations spend those credits. This guide covers the plans, what the credits actually buy, and how to keep a crypto-funded card working on Runway.

How to pay for Runway with crypto in 4 steps

  1. Get a crypto-funded card. Virtual for AI & Ad Spend is a prepaid virtual card you top up with stablecoins or other crypto.
  2. Open Runway's pricing page and choose Standard, Pro or Max, monthly or yearly.
  3. Enter the card at Stripe's checkout. Use the name and billing address on your SolCard account.
  4. Keep the card funded before each renewal, and before buying extra credits on Pro or Max.

Runway plans and prices

From Runway's pricing page, October 2026:

PlanMonthlyBilled yearly (per month)CreditsWhat the credits buy
Free$0$0125, one timeA selection of models to test ideas
Standard$15$12625 a month52s of Gen-4.5, 104s of Gen-4 Turbo, or 78 Gen-4 images at 1080p
Pro$35$282,250 a month187s of Gen-4.5, 375s of Gen-4 Turbo, or 281 Gen-4 images
Max$95$769,500 a month791s of Gen-4.5, 1,900s of Gen-4 Turbo, or 1,187 Gen-4 images

Standard removes watermarks and adds 4K upscaling. Pro adds top-up credits "anytime", a custom voice and 100 GB of storage. Max credits roll over for one month. Runway is running 25% off Kling 4.0 generations on paid plans until November 30, per the same page.

The credit math is the number to plan around. On Standard, 625 credits buy under a minute of Gen-4.5 video a month. If you generate video every day, Pro or Max is the realistic plan.

What it costs with a crypto-funded card

What you buyCard chargeSolCard fee at 5%
Standard, monthly$15$0.75
Pro, monthly$35$1.75
Max, monthly$95$4.75
Pro, billed yearly$336$16.80

Add the one-time $10 card fee in your first month. The 5% applies to each top-up of the card, not to Runway's charge.

Our view: yearly billing saves 20% on Runway's side, which is more than the card fee on any plan. If you know you'll use Runway for a year, pay yearly and do one larger top-up.

Why a Runway payment gets declined

Runway doesn't publish a decline guide. Its checkout runs on Stripe, so these are the common causes on crypto-funded cards:

  • Not enough on the card. Yearly plans charge the full year at once.
  • A prepaid card Stripe's risk checks reject. Many prepaid cards fail at AI merchants. Virtual for AI & Ad Spend was built for these checkouts.
  • Mismatched billing details. The billing address should match your SolCard account.
  • Several failed attempts in a row. Stripe may block the card for a while. Wait rather than retrying quickly.
  • 3D Secure. Complete the 3D Secure prompt if one appears on the first charge.

Education plans are different: Runway's Education FAQ says those plans take credit cards only.

Paying Runway with SolCard

SolCard built Virtual for AI & Ad Spend for AI tools, API credits and ad platforms. SolCard customers have paid Runway with it, so it works as the card on your Runway account.

What it doesn't do: it doesn't stretch Runway's credits, and it's a virtual card only, so enter it as a card rather than through Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you work across several AI video tools, the same card covers Kling AI and Higgsfield, and ElevenLabs for voice.

Frequently asked questions

Does Runway accept crypto?

No. Runway bills through Stripe and lists cards, Amazon Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, US bank payments, Alipay, Cash App Pay and WeChat Pay. A crypto-funded card is the route from a wallet. SolCard customers have paid Runway with the Virtual for AI & Ad Spend card as of October 2026.

How much does Runway cost?

Runway Standard is $15 a month or $12 billed yearly, Pro is $35 or $28, and Max is $95 or $76. There is also a free plan with 125 one-time credits.

How many videos can I make on Runway Standard?

Standard's 625 monthly credits buy about 52 seconds of Gen-4.5 video, 104 seconds of Gen-4 Turbo, or 78 Gen-4 images at 1080p, per Runway's pricing page. Heavy video users usually need Pro or Max.

Can I buy extra Runway credits?

Yes, on Pro, where Runway lists top-up credits anytime, and on Max, where unused credits roll over for one month. The same card on file pays for top-ups.

Can I pay for Runway's education plan with a crypto card?

Runway's Education FAQ says education plans take credit cards only, and bank transfers are limited to enterprise plans. Whether a given prepaid card passes is up to the checkout.

The bottom line

Runway prices plans in dollars but you spend them in seconds of video, and the lower tiers run out quickly. Pick the plan by how many seconds you need, pay yearly if you're sure, and fund the card before renewal day. Paying from crypto changes nothing about the credit math, only where the money comes from.
